"FCA is so important to me because of the community it has provided me and the way it has helped shift my perspective in sports. My first ever experience in FCA was when I started JH. Every Thursday someone would come talk to us about Jesus and we'd get free lunch and I loved it! So when summer time came around my mom had told me that they had a camp and so I got together a few of my friends and we went! It was such a fun week. The following year I wanted to become more involved in FCA so I applied to be an officer for our JH team and got accepted. When summer rolled around again I got some friends together and we went to camp again and even won the Ironman! It was such a blast and I loved the environment of competing, but knowing who we compete for. I continued to be an officer all through out junior high and into high school and then my junior year I applied to be the captain of our officer team and won! I was ecstatic to not only continue being an officer, but help lead other officers so we can improve and grow FCA at our school. I am serving as our captain again for my final year. Its saddening for me to think about my time in FCA coming to a close, but I can look back with great joy on all the moments it has provided me. FCA gave me the outlet to make sure I was living out my faith in school and in sports, gave me a community to hold me accountable for when I wasn't setting my focus on the right things, and most importantly it gave so many kids the chance to hear the gospel that they may have never gotten if it wasn't for getting a free lunch. FCA will forever be important to me and has played a pivotal role in shaping me to be the person and athlete I am today. "
